BUYER BEWARE !
Due to the demand that is occurring in
Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, most major solar panel
manufacturers will be experiencing severe shortages of
solar panels throughout 2008.
Some dealers have resorted to selling lower voltage
solar panels that do not perform as well as higher
voltage panels in hot weather. Other dealers have
begun selling panels that
include less than 25 year warranties.
A 10 or 20 year warranty may seem like a long time, but when you consider that solar panels typically last 40 to 50 years, you have to ask yourself why a manufacturer would offer a lesser warranty when most manufacturers offer 25 years ? In our opinion the reason seems pretty obvious !
Other dealers have begun selling lower efficiency
Amorphous
or Thin Film solar panels or panels with negative 10%
or more minimum warranted power ratings.
